Born and raised in uptown Manhattan, Brother Tito Deler is the son of immigrants from the Dominican Republic. With a natural gift for music, Tito started playing piano at an early age and picked up the guitar by age eight. But it wasn’t until he was 38 that Tito found his true instrument, a steel body National Resonator guitar. He started writing music of his own, combining sounds from his New York upbringing with the style of pre-war Mississippi Delta blues. He released his first record, The Original Harlem Slim, which was named one of the top 15 albums by Other Music in 2012.

Drawn to the Mississippi Delta blues of Willie Brown, Son House, Skip James and others, Brother Tito has played with various Mississippi bluesmen over the years such as R.L. Boyce, Little Joe Ayers, Jimmy "Duck" Holmes and Leo "Bud" Welch. They have embraced him as one of their own. He has since returned to Mississippi several times a year to play in various roots and blues festivals and jukes in the South. Aside from spending time in the Southern states Brother Tito has toured the West Coast from Vancouver B.C. to Los Angeles and taken his style of Gospel Blues overseas to Tokyo and Amsterdam where he performed at the 2018 Ted Talks. Brother Tito has been brand ambassador for PF Flyers, appeared on the cover of Mens File Magazine and has been featured in various publications such as Jocks & Nerds London and Clutch Magazine Japan from his exposure overseas.
