Under the collective name of “Identities Project,” Floris, Ilia, Lucas, Omer and I release the Downbeat Jazz Award winning album “Identities.” A monumental and exceptional work that will inspire a global audience for its formidable display of melodic compositions, inspired by traditional harmonies mixed with modern sounds.
All the compositions come from emotional experiences that I had during the transition from the city of Barcelona to Amsterdam, where this band started playing together after meeting each other in the effervescent Jazz scene.
The title of the album (Identities) has a meaning related to the compositions. My composing process is based on the inspiration from other music. I listen to the sound of my favorite recordings and I take from them what I interpret. The result of this process creates my own identity. This means that I'm made of the sum of identities that come from artists and people I admire.
I think you never stop building your own self.
