Riitta Paakki Quartet - Piste (2020)

Riitta Paakki Quartet’s new album entitled Piste will be released in November 2020 by the Turku based Flame Jazz Records -label. Pianist Riitta Paakki is one of the most celebrated musicians in her field today. She demonstrates this expertise compositionally, as her original pieces seamlessly display her maturity of vision while still maintaining an accessibly uplifting energy. Aesthetically, the sound of these new works is fresh with modern Norhtern flavors, yet Paakki manages to stay true to the roots of jazz evoking its swinging pulse. The quartet’s organic musical chemistry is brimming with joy, which the listener can’t help but feel as well.
