Using their 10 year anniversary as a chance to compartmentalise differing aspects of the label, Gilles Peterson's diverse jazz based compilation looks to Talkin Inside The Beat for the exclusives and sum up the recent past (hard to find re-mixes). Those who tune into his syndicated "World Wide" show will be familiar with the sounds of Jazzanova's re-interpretation of 4Hero's "We Who are Not as Others", a full electro-percussive workout, grounded in the subtleties of strings and double bass. Newcomer Venom injects tech appeal into the rolling drums of "Brazillica", whereas Cinematic Orchestra funk up Krust's "Re-Arrange", adding his traditional bottom end to a frenetic climax of rousing sax and tumbling drums. The Latin appeal of NY cohorts Nuyorican Soul is also catered for, the 13-minute epic of Size's "Watching Windows" included in all it's organic glory, sustaining a healthy mid-album flow.
