In November 2020, Dalindèo, one of Finland's leading jazz ensembles, released his fifth album Follow the Dark Money. With the publication, Dalindèo brings its views on global themes to the public.
The band's Fifth Long Play followed in the footsteps of the Dark Money EP released in the spring of 2020, whose release tour was unfortunately missed as the corona pandemic stopped the world. The recent ensemble of eight compositions was the artistic reaction of the band leader Valtteri Laurell Pöyhönen to the current state of the world, where the inequality of individuals and the number of international conflicts have become more and more critical. In addition to the dark and threatening shades hinted at by the EP, there are also more hopeful flashes of light in Follow the Dark Money.
The Multifaith Prayer Room is inspired by the “spiritual rooms” found at major international airports and open to all religions. Parallel Realities reminds us that everyone has their own reality and that it is worth leaving your own bubble before you start criticizing others. The title of the album’s concluding fragile Lessons in Kindness song refers to the extremely important empathy ability and lifelong learning for everyone on a personal and global level, ”Pöyhönen deepens.
