On this album we are treated to Jane Morgan's versatility and exotic side -the bulk of the CD consists of Latin standards, recorded in a mixture of the original Spanish lyrics and English translations. Digitally re-mastered in glorious stereo sound, all tracks are on CD for the very first time.

Jane Morgan was one of popular music's all-round artists. Most of the tunes here will be familiar to fans of popular music under different English-language titles. For instance, 'Quizas, Quizas, Quizas' became a hit as 'Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps', and 'Solamente Una Vez' is better known as 'You Belong to My Heart' while Lara's famous 'Granada' has been sung by everyone from Frank Sinatra to The Three Tenors. And yet, with her unmistakeable timbre and fine musicianship, Jane Morgan makes all these songs absolutely her own. After this bevy of Latin music, we're treated to a selection of records made between 1957 and 1959, many of which find Morgan back on the home territory of American songbook classics. 1959 was the year of the opening of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music on Broadway. Morgan excels in the title song, of course, but it's a testament to her ability to sing in more 'legitimate' styles that she's able to render 'Climb Every Mountain' with such ease, since it's traditionally been performed by opera singers.
