A feather-light tenor, clear diction, supple and pointed piano-playing, flawless ensemble-playing, an intimate sonic image, a broad range of dynamics and characters … What else is there to say, if one is asked, about the “Schöne Müllerin” as performed by Andreas Post and Tatjana Dravenau? Perhaps this: one of the most beautiful lieder cycles of the Romantic period, of which many only know “des Müllers Lust” and which one can always rediscover, time and again. Or this: cryptic wandering of souls between bright sky-blue and the impenetrable darkness of a midnight forest. But the best thing to say would be: “Don’t talk about it, just listen to it!” In so doing, many questions will answer themselves…
