Silvije Glojnaric - MUSIC CONVERSATION (2020)

Silvije Glojnarić has built a fruitful and diverse musical career as a drummer, composer, arranger and conductor.

Although his musical opus includes a number of different styles such as jazz, contemporary classical music, film music, musicals and popular music, maestro Glojnarić is primarily engaged in composing for a big band in a modern jazz style that originates from swing, the latter format forming a significant part of his of an extensive musical opus.

On his fifth studio album, symbolically titled Music Conversation, maestro Glojnarić expresses the deep clarity of his compositional craft and artistic purpose, and expresses himself unmistakably with his modern sound, which, on the other hand, is firmly grounded in the jazz tradition. Sophisticated polyphonic lines and subtle orchestral colors clearly reveal his classical education. The compositions presented on this CD truly represent a musical conversation between the composer, the orchestra and us, the listeners.

During his rich career, Silvija Glojnarić has collaborated with greats such as Art Farmer, Slide Hampton, Johnny Griffin, Buck Clayton, John Lewis, Albert Mangelsdorf, Helen Merrill, Stan Getz, Art Taylor, Toots Thielemans, Miroslav Vitous, Big Joe Turner, Maynard Ferguson, Buddy de Franco, Niels Pedersen, Golden Gate Quartet and many others.
