Samarabalouf is led by Francois Petit, a guitarist nurtured on Django Reinhardt, on Eastern European music and on Oriental music. He specializes is Selmer-type acoustic guitar, and it is from this instrument, this culture that he composes instrumental pieces. Accompanied by a rythmic guitar and by a double bass, Francois plays different colors while keeping his personalmarks. From Django’s music, only the tones and therythmics have been kept. He uses these methods to create a repertoire going from Boogie-Blues, to Flamenco Rock and integrates different popular musics such as the Waltz, the Tango, the Rumba and the Slow number.
On stage his energy, cohesion, sharing, without forgetting his virtuosity bring the listener on a trip between roaming reverie and pleasure to live it up where soft and doleful or festive and delightful notes are mixed. And as each interpreted piece tells a story, the Trio presents them with a good amount of humor and of social interaction.
