After 20 years of real life friendship, Federico and Mel Contino decided to get back to their crazy common music roots, after several years of gigs, in any genre. In the 90’s they often played Hammond Organ combos with various guitarists with The Modern Organ Trio.
Instead searching a new third element, Federico decided to take the chance for the first time to blend his Hammond organ jazz & progressive rock influences with his more recent experiences as music producer and sound designer. Starting from inglorious vintage audio samples taken from ethnic music (heavily tweaked and mixed), the Hammond organ and the drums play free, recording at the very first take in a unrepeatable way. No second takes allowed. Federico then overdubbed extra parts over the live hammond & drums recordings, giving more sense to the improvisations playing unisono parts and more interplay switching between piano, midi trumpet & saxophones, flute adding some occasional weird synths. This is the Hammond organ ready for the future !
