It's been a while since the release of vol.4 compiled by DJ Andy Smith, but now a brand new chapter of our bestselling and much loved "Let's BOOGALOO" collection finally sees the light of day. Much respected record collector, DJ & founder of the great Jazzman Records Gerald Short drops another "all killers no fillers" selection.... The winning formula has remained unchanged, once again you'll find a lot of rare gems along with a bunch of the best contemporary funk and soul productions. The result is an incandescent selection of deep funk, rare soul, modish-R&B, titty-shakers and jazzy 45s that go across the boards.

On the deep funk front, the hard-hitting x-over version of "Kay-Gee" recorded by Floyd Lawson & The Hearts of Stone in 1975, Billy Larkin's "Funky Fire" and Keisa Brown's monster "Dance Man", a semi-unknown stormer brought to popularity by Ian Wright. On the soul side "Little Love Affair", a northern soul beauty recorded in 1969 by Patril Staten, x-over soul stormer from the early 70s "It's an Explosion" by Royale VII and "Get Yourself Together" from Ricardo Marrero's "A taste" LP. Amongst the new productions are "His Spoke", a raw, lo-fi gospel funk 45 from 2009 by All Nation Quartet aka Kiwi guitarist & funk/soul addict Kris Holmes, "Angel Food" by The Port Angels aka producer and multi-instrumentalist Joel Ricci, one of the best 45s to have come out this year and whose 300 pressed copies sold out immediately, and Mountain Mocha Kilimanjaro from Japan, one of the hottest names on the new deep funk scene. But there's much more included here, such as "Makini", a grinding R&B/shaker from 1960s Tanzanian vocalist Sal Davis that is able to set every dancefloor on fire, mod-ish stomping R&B from Little Willie John and Freddy King or latin/tropical funk with The Soul Fantastics and The Invaders out of Bermuda.Funky as hell.. see you on the dancefloor fellas!

Since "Sal Davis - Makini" is missing, it appears to be a web release.
