10 CD tracks that brings together a tight batch of rare tracks recorded for MPS by the brothers Kuhn – pianist Joachim and clarinetist Rolf. Most of the tracks here (recorded between 1969 and 1980) have a searching European free style, of the sort that was oft-recorded in the post-Coltrane years. Rolf gives lots of hard, arching solos on the reed end of things, and Joachim lays down contemplative, yearning lines on the piano. Tracks include "My Friend The Yogi", "Made In Spain", "One String More", "Uncle Archibald", and "First Frisco". Some tracks have an electric feel, others are a bit more straight. Good notes, as usual with this series, and a nice long batch of tracks!
