ATMA Classique launches the first of three albums with the Biel Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Thomas Rösner. Inaugurating this new collaboration with the Swiss orchestra, this CD offers a program based on his piece of resistance: the superb music by John Williams composed for the film Schindler's List (Steven Spielberg) and crowned with the Oscar for best original music in 1993. Recorded at the Palais des Congrès in Biel, the disc also includes the Hebrew Suite and the Concerto Grosso No. 1 by Ernest Bloch, starring respectively the violinist Alexandre da Costa and the pianist Marc Pantillon.
