"100 WATT VIPERS" is a group of two people with an easy-to-understand creativity: not overloaded texts and clear meaning without unnecessary debris and unnecessary pathos. "A couple of guys with love for the traditional blues and a powerful dose of guitar rock music." - that's what they call themselves.
The group "100 WATT VIPERS" was born in 2013 in Jacksonville (Florida) by old friends guitarist Paul Joseph (Paul Joseph), and drummer-vocalist DJ Riddick (DJ Riddick). A few months of hard work in the old shed seemed at first to be in vain: the music did not turn out as desired: it was coming out too hot and stormy, then on the contrary: it was too cold and simple, as it seemed to the musicians themselves. Slivers and shavings flew in all directions, a couple of times Paul with Riddick strongly scandalized for a bottle or two of beer, as is usual with musicians: the problem was that they saw the music in different ways. Still not really created group was on the verge of collapse. But ... More with each bottle of beer came not only a desire to argue, but also a joint insight and a desire to throw out the accumulated experience through creativity. Although hard, but they came to their goal. Gradually, the guys developed a style that suited them both, and it reminded the garage blues. Since both musicians were fans of the traditional blues (although in this their views were similar), they formed their creativity on the basis of the characteristic representatives of this direction. Especially they were inspired by Howling Wolf, Albert King and it is very noticeable from their songs. But also they considered themselves to be rockers, and they were not indifferent to the powerful sound of AC / DC. "In the end, based on our work, we got a mixture much more sonorous and stiffer than the blues." - Paul said.
They are not supporters of technology, and naturalness is most important for them. Pure, unworked vocals of Riddick, percussion and wild, unbridled guitar music of Paul - that's what "100 WATT VIPERS" consists of.
When both musicians caught a wave and their songs began to suit them both - the guys decided to make a studio recording. "And finally, what we did was interesting for ourselves," Riddick was kicks. And at the end of 2013 the band first performed in Jacksonville. All the grandmother went to cover the records in the studio. But unlike most groups that spend a few days in studios, "100 WATT VIPERS" spent very little time on this. The engineer tuned the microphones in the studio, and it raced ... By the end of the day, everything was ready.
"Our team is badly missing a third member, for the completion of the group, but we are very meticulous: it must certainly sound like we do, understand what we are doing, otherwise we just will not work together," the musicians say.
