Laura Rain and the Caesars - Electrified (2013)

Laura Rain & the Caesars formed in the Motor City in 2012. The band performs regularly throughout the Detroit area, and is quickly attracting attention worldwide as a unique and hard driving soul blues outfit fronted by the charismatic and fiery vocals of Laura Rain. Their debut CD "Electrified" contains nods to Memphis Soul, Chicago Blues, and Motown Funk performed with a modern twist. Producer and guitarist George Friend has played with the likes of Janiva Magness, Jessy Moss, Robert Gordon, and Thornetta Davis. His bluesy guitar stylings provide the perfect catalyst for Laura's unbridled vocal style. Featuring Ron Pangborn on drums (Was Not Was, Marshall Crenshaw) and Phil Hale on organ/bass (George Clinton, Marcus Belgrave, Ridgeway Sisters) the band weaves a soulful bed of funkiness underneath it all.
