Lisbon-via-London raver Violet sifts her archive for killer offbeat treats and queered electronics in a 15 tracks batch for her Naivety sublabel of Naive.
After taking a minute since her debut album in 2019, Violet gears up for future moves by rinsing out her archive 2012-2020, coppering the time since she moved from London back to Lisbon and established herself as a core player in the city’s alternative rave scene, establishing her Naive/Naivety label as home for likes of Photonz, Elles, Octo Octa and gayphextwin.
The set speaks to the breadth of her actions, encompassing abstract experiments such as ‘Visible Hand’ thru to breezier, mystic Atlantic dance-pop in ‘Got To Love’, taking in metallic breakbeat worms like ‘The Voices’, and the dread bass-fuelled early jungle pressure of ‘Old Dreams’, next to crispier downbeat house biscuits in ’Sun Rays’ and ‘Internet Explorer (youtube edit)’ recalling Lisbon natives Niagara.
