The new CD of the Manfred Fuchs Trio convinces with varied, original pieces, catchy melodies and rousing grooves.
The stylistic variety ranges from traditional gypsy swing and romantic-dreamy ballads to blues, rhythm changes and gypsy bossa to tango, with highly virtuoso, imaginative improvisations that seem to ignore technical problems.
Even the bass - unusual for the genre - comes into its own in every piece as a soloist, sometimes plucked, sometimes canceled.
