Vibraphonist Panu Savolainen will release his new album Soiva on Friday, February 19, 2021. The album presents the ensemble Panu Savolainen's Soiva Trio, consisting of Savolainen, accordionist Harri Kuusijärvi and bassist Eero Sepä, with an acoustically fresh ensemble sound, which records the songs at the Villa Vikan artist villa in Raseborg on April 20th in the middle of the summer. .
"The Soiva album unites my love for completely acoustically played music and the long-matured line-up with Harry and Eero's musicians," says Savolainen. "The album consists of two with the exception of his own compositions, which I did not want to rely on the beauty of simplicity, at the same time seeking all possible timbres vibraphone, accordion and double bass trio formed. In my experience, the time of physical isolation has only emphasized the need to be able to perform and hear the direct sound of acoustic instruments - without any amplification. ”
In connection with the Soiva album, the third season of the Panurama podcast hosted by Panu Savolainen will also be released, which will deal with the stages of making the album and music more broadly.
