Antonin Tucapsky - Tučapský: Stabat Mater - Mary Magdalene (2014)

Tucapsky’s Stabat Mater has long been considered his supreme masterpiece and SOMM is very proud to have this work in its catalogue (also see SOMMCD 201) together with the composer’s other seminal work, the Cantata Mary Magdalene. Tucapsky’s music is emotional and traumatic without any obvious direct influences but he acknowledges Szymanowski, Dvorak and Hanus (particularly in the Mary Magdalene).
