Carmen!
First you take the essence of the European nobleman and mix it with the proud Aztec culture. Throw in a large dose of the fierce Yaqui Indian. Then raise it in one country absorbing its colorful uninhibited zest for living, and educate it in another country imbibing its mind with new freedoms and different directions.
You now have Carmen! And it is Carmen! you will hear.
Carmen! has a voice that sounds like no one else’s and once you have heard it, you will not confuse it nor will you forget it.
Her vocal color spectrum is wide and multi-colored. For instance, her murky, mysterious, swamp greens, the total assertions of her blood reds, the purity of her sky-on-a windy-day blue, the gaiety and brightness of her daffodil yellows, the abandonment in her crepe paper orange. These are but a very few.
We have sought to capture her in her entirety but found it impossible to do all in one album. Perhaps in subsequent ones we shall succeed.
Being an uninhibited performer, in singing Carmen! emotes down dark abyss of despair to new peaks of happiness.
But enough has been said -
