King of the World in December 2014 took various shows on during their tour. Many recordings with the outlier the show in Paradiso. This resulted in the CD Live at Paradiso.
The new CD Live at Paradiso contains King of the World classics like Let's go get stoned, Bluesified and Can't go home, but also new songs as Do it and Woman across the river.
“King of the World” is the new Roots Rhythm & Blues group from the Netherlands. Legendary guitarist Erwin Java decided to form a band after the dead of his buddy and blues legend Harry Muskee, with whom he played for over 25 years in Cuby & the Blizzards. The guitarist also known for his work with Jan Akkerman, Larry Carlton and Herman Brood got in lead singer and bass player Ruud Weber, known for his work with Snowy White, Hammond player Govert van der Kolm who played with artist like Coco Montoya, Matt Schofield and Monster Mike Welch, and drummer Fokke de Jong who’s been in the drum seat of the number one dialect band Normaal for over 20 years.
After their first rehearsals in beginning 2012, the rumour started going around the Netherlands and within weeks the first try-outs were booked and sold-out. Soon there was talk of a new superband.
King of the World’s name refers to an old John Lee Hooker song and of course to the three Kings, Albert, Freddy and BB King.
