The album reads like the who-is-who of blues! That is the way the first full-blown album of the BLUES BALLS can be described. Unknown prehistoric songs of blues (for example the theme song “Playing on me” by Albert King) or classics like “Before you accuse me” are wrapped in an idiosyncratic arrangement while still rendered with a real genuine expression.

The three musicians produced the new album themselves!

The experienced trio plays blues in a wide range from ancient days to yesterday – and all this with tomorrow’s groove. The sound by BLUES BALLS hits you with inexpressible drive and attacks all your senses.

The Czech guitarist and vocalist Jan Bukacek ventures with each gig to hang in the groove of Thomas Elsasser (bass) and Sascha Jaeggi (drums) without losing anything of his absolutely authentic performance. These three thoroughbred musicians truly live the blues – even off-stage – and therefore tremendously stand out from the crowd of the one-hit wonder blues bands.

The band celebrates a sound which blends “electrifying Chicago Blues” à la Albert Collins, Memphis Sound by Albert King and Tex-Mex by Stevie Ray Vaughan. The brand new CD “Playing on me” contains a variety of true pearls from different blues stars.

The name of the band stands for the performance: They’ve got balls!
