Lillerne is excited to work with a new set of tunes from the ever-evolving jung dj project. loci flux is his second cassette on Lillerne in two years. While 2019’s Wave Idea focused cleanly on midi loops and hyper-focused drum patterns, loci flux finds itself moving into a decidedly more open and airy world—a musical representation of life’s movement and a change of physical place. The room itself may be more spacious, but the rhythms and compositions that I’ve found to shine especially bright within jung dj’s catalogue seem to shine even brighter within this space. This combination of open skies with definitively grounded sounds is a real treat for the ears. Dark, dubby caverns eventually open up to shining, bracing daylight. Each track on loci flux is named for an NYC DJ that, over the past decade, had helped him along the way. Feels no better time than now to consider those places and people that impact our lives and work. Mastered beautifully by J. Albert, these tracks pop off on cassette in a way that I’ve not really heard before. Edition of 75 professionally duplicated cassettes.
