Tenor sax playing elder brother of pianist Kenny Barron, who has worked and recorded with a wide variety of jazz names, including Cecil Taylor, Charles Mingus, Donald Byrd, Randy Weston, Ted Curson, Philly Joe Jones, and Red Garland. He made 5 albums under his own name for Savoy & Audio Fidelity. These fine Stockholm recordings, all self-composed, were made with a host of Swedish jazz stars and date from 1966, 1979, 1984, and 1989 (the year of his death at 62).
