Singer, drummer, keyboardist, songwriter, arranger and producer. Tony Coleman (Anthony Tyrone Coleman) has had a brilliant career traveling the world with B.B. King, Otis Clay, Bobby Blue Bland, Johnnie Taylor, Albert King, Albert Collins, Etta James, James Cotton, Katie Webster, Z.Z. Hill, O.V. Wright and Buddy Guy. His early ambitions led to meeting soul singer Otis Clay. They toured together for a couple of years, recording a live album in Tokyo, Japan. Tony Coleman's first CD - Out In The Open (1996) featuring friends, guest musicians Lucky Peterson, Kenny Neal and Frankie Lee received excellent reviews. With the exception of three covers, all of the material for the album is written by Tony. The CD features a gamut of blues styles and Tony proves that he is the master of all of them.
After touring and recording with Otis Clay, the opportunity arose to work with other major R&B and blues artists. After a jam session at a Chicago club called The High Chaparral B.B. King jammed with the Otis Clay rhythm section. B.B. King liked the rhythm section so much that he asked them to join as his touring group. This is how Tony Coleman, Russell Jackson and Leonard Gill became the rhythm section of B.B. King. As fate would have it, Tony was with B.B. only a few months before main drummer B.B. Later, Coleman returned to B.B. King and has toured with Mr. King organization, performing blues around the world.
His second album "Travelin 'Man" was released in the US in February 2002 with special guests from the brass section Earth, Wind & Fire, Lucky Peterson and other great blues names.
Bonjour Mr Coleman (2007) - guests here too: Lead Guitar - Eric Starczan, Recorded By - Fred Chapellier.
