The mame Pat Lundy is one which will mean much more to you in the months (and not too many years) to come. You’ll be seeing her on the best marquees, in the boldest type in the TV Guide variety show quest list, in hip publications such as Downbeat, Jazz and Sound and Fury. But most of all you’ll begin to connect her name with one of the best voices...soul instruments...performing today.
She has paid dues. Coaxed by Eddie Saunders, who helped a fledgling Nancy Wilson some years ago, Pat left the Symbols, rhythm and blues trio she sang lead with, to establish her solo career. From consistent work in some of the country’s best - if not top-name-night-clubs, she went to a high-level recording contract with a high-level record company. Columbia Records signed Pat on the advice of jazz elder John Hammond, who also directed the release of her first big single record, “City of Stone.” The disc established a basis for the excitement and propeled the vivacious singer in the direction of stardom.
