Born in Ukraine in 1984, Alexander Gaveylyuk emigrated to Australia when he was 13 years old. He was the Gold Medal winner at the Horowitz International Piano Competition in 1999 and at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Masters Competition in 2005. In 2009 he performed and recorded the Prokofiev Concerto cycle in Sydney with Vladimir Ashkenazy. Today he is based in the Netherlands.
