The album "Nasza Miłość" is the first joint project of a father and daughter, a saxophonist and a jazz singer. It is no coincidence that it appears in the year of Henryk Miśkiewicz's 70th birthday ... Although such material would seem obvious, it made us wait a long time. Dorota and Henryk performed together many times, but never before have they managed to record a joint album as part of a specially prepared program. The idea of releasing such an album came from Dorota, who admits that "Our Love" is her personal birthday gift for her Dad.
One of the most important figures contributing to the project is Piotr Orzechowski "Pianohooligan" - the characteristic, non-obvious sound of the piano under his fingers was a great inspiration for the leaders. A serious pillar of the album is also Dorota's brother, Michał Miśkiewicz, a well-known drummer, who records for the German label ECM - let us emphasize that he is a composer of two songs. His long-time section partner, Sławomir Kurkiewicz, accompanies him on bass.
Most of the songs on the album were composed by Henryk Miśkiewicz - among them there are instrumental melodies written by him many years ago, for which the lyrics have only now been created. One of them is, for example, the ballad "Words in the head" composed by Henryk at the age of 16 with a text by Andrzej Poniedzielski. An interesting return to the past is also the song "Our dream affairs" with the words of Wojciech Młynarski, sung years ago by Ewa Bem. It is also worth paying attention to the single song "Czy Nasz miłość", which is the composer's debut of the Miśkiewicz siblings to a text by Bogdan Loebel, and the premiere song by Henryk "What has passed, let it come back" composed to the text of the Krakow poet Ewa Lipska. So that it would follow Dorota's existing album tradition - on the album "Nasza Miłość" there was also a song with a text by Grzegorz Turnau.
