Natalia Skvortsova Trio - Empathy (2021)

Empathy… The space of subtle sensations, the territory of emotions… Empathy is defined by psychologists as an ability of deep compassion with somebody through identification with this person. Literal Greek translation means passion and suffering. Can compassion also be added to this list? Many religions around the globe call it the highest virtue and the greatest wisdom. Is compassion the same thing as empathy, or are there more differences than similarities? Perhaps their difference is just like one between a philosophical work and a novel.

I am grateful to my colleagues for «Empathy». This time it helped us to create new spaces and see the old ones in a new way. My first trio-album is finally released. Natalia Skvortsova
