Anna Klungre - east/west (2021)

"East / west" is Anna Klungre's debut album and one of her biggest projects to date. Based on jazz, improvisation and choral music, she has created a masterpiece that retells the folk tale "East of the sun and west of the moon". The music alternates between thoroughly arranged choral movements and melodies, to freely improvised stretches that take the listener through the journey to the protagonist in the fairy tale. All lyrics and music are composed by Klungre, with inspiration from, among others, Norwegian choral music, Bach and improvised, experimental vocal music.

Anna won the Bate talent award in 2020 and the jury said among other things; «… .Anna has shown great development, both in terms of craftsmanship and art. Anna has a remarkable openness.
