Maurice André and Miles Davis finally brought the trumpet to life, giving it its individual character and turning it into a seismograph of the human soul. Since then it has sung and dazzled us with its brilliance. Neither Bach nor Albinoni, Telemann, Handel or Vivaldi could ever have imagined the breathtaking acrobatics, depth of expression or lyricism that Gábor Tarkövi, the Hungarian star trumpeter of the Berliner Philharmoniker, is able to coax from his different trumpets.

Together with Peter Kofler he performs transcriptions of works from the baroque period with such style, taste, energy and authenticity that they all sound like originals!
