Saxophonist Mads Ole Erhardsen der bla. plays with Thomas Sejthen Trio and Martin Lutz Group have made a trio record together with Morten Ankarfeldt on bass and Janus Templeton on drums. Mads Ole Erhardsen plays exclusively baritone saxophone on the album's 9 tracks, which are both his own and others' compositions. The album opens with one of the greats, Lars Gullin's Danny's Dream. The trio elegantly sneaks around with a deeply empathetic tone from Mads Ole, hand playing on the drums and a simple and mature bass playing. Charlie Parker’s Billie’s Bounce is a technically demanding affair that doesn’t seem to give the trio sweat on their foreheads with the coolness they perform. The album's last track is McCoy Tyner's Search for peace, which appeared on one of the world's best jazz records, The Real McCoy from 1967. A ballad in which Mads Ole Erhardsen lifts the baritone saxophone from the deep registers and sends a musical message of peace. Barimore is a nice acquaintance.
