Cello Concerto for Isabelle is the result of a collaboration between composer-conductor Dirk Brosse, the London Symphonic Orchestra led by Min the maestro and cellist Marie Hallynck. The CD is presented to an invited audience on November 23 in the Miry Concert Hall in the Conservatory of Ghent.
On the program: an interpretation by Marie Hallynck & Muhiddin Dürrüoglu, viewing of "The Making Of" by Jacques Servaes, director of the documentary Brossé among others (2013), and various introductions. The Belgian star cellist Marie Hallynck plays a Matteo Goffriller cello, an ancient instrument that exists in 2017 300 years. The owner of the instrument commissioned a cello concerto in honor of his beloved Isabelle. The piece built around love in all its facets, was inspired by The World Book of Love, author Leo bouche. In this book dozens of international scientists, psychologists and psychiatrists that their work has taught them about "love and loving." The concert describes love in seven different events, based on various archetypes. Six movements give musical voice to the love in an original and sometimes quirky dialogue between the soloist and the orchestra.
