Giles Lamb - Synthetic Dreams (2021)

Giles Lamb’s next release is inspired by a Virtual Reality collaboration Glasgow Digital Experiences creators ‘ISO Design in 2017’.

The project called Sirens Servers involved creating soundtracks Virtual Reality Experiences - inspired by Jason Lanier quote “Theres’s no plan to be evil. A siren server seduces you”

the music incorporates voice, electronics and samples - I imagined the music being an attempt at emulating a machine emulating a Human. Using Yamaha’s Vocaloid system combined with fragments of vocals by Emma Gillespie, strings and piano mined from old sessions. The music is alien and yet retains a fragile humanity. The music navigates a haunting ambient vibe which steers to more intense hypnotic sound worlds.
