The Red Hills Music Collective - Greetings from Lawrence County Illinois (2021)

This 16- person group of mostly Lawrence County musicians just released their 12- song album on multiple digital platforms this past week. England stated that the music tries to answer the question “what does Lawrence County sound like?” One of the songs was recorded locally in the Pisgah Presbyterian Church, and is described as a “love letter to all rural churches.” Included among the other song titles are Hell’s Half Acre, Wako Radio, Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Bridgeport and Three Dollar Corn, just to mention a few.

The album is a “compelling musical peek into the many facets comprising life in the 374- square mile farming region on the southeast border of the state” according to the Southern Illinoisan.
