“Meat and poetry” caresses dichotomies, contradictions and oxymorons, emphasizing nuances and details, with the care of a craftsman and with the precision of a knife thrower. A record that sheds light on the stumbling blocks, fears, weaknesses and frailties of the human being, enhancing them with meaning and poetry. Stories of real life, tales of men on the margins of society, but still inhabited by an unequivocal tenacity and hope, emotions that reveal the sacredness of small and simple daily conquests.

In this record, more than in others, the word becomes alive and visual: it becomes a gaze, creates images, sets up an almost cinematic scene. In the succession of traces, the sea , in relation to some subjects, becomes a necessary element, a suggestive and decisive peculiarity. The references to Mediterranean , ethnic sounds , with African choirs are therefore frequent and characterizingand heterogeneous musical languages. Even the choice of instruments, harmonic developments and rhythm is by no means random. The sensation is that of being, with the passage of the songs, in different settings: under the arcades of a Bologna in winter, on a sunny beach on a spring day, in a market in the Middle East, in a village in South Africa, in the streets of Buenos Aires, in a western movie, in a room. The arrangements dress, with taste and effectiveness, the dance of verses and melodies; every entrance, every color, every joint has a meaning.
