The exceptional soloist and chamber musicpartner. Lastein has been awarded with numerous national and international awards. At the age of only 13 he gave his solo debut with orchestra. Since then Sebastian Lastein has been performing at renowned festivals. Lastein recently played Mozart's famous clarinet concerto at the festival "Das Fest" in Karlsruhe in front of 25,000 spectators. The press mentions him as one of the most versatile artists ofhis generation. His game is sparkling, colorful and incredibly virtuosic.
Since October 2013, Lastein is pursuing his passion for conducting. Professional orchestras have already drawn attention to the young conductors and have agreed on a collaboration.
In 2015 he was appointed the new artistic director of the concert series "Klangkunst". From the time of the 2017 season, Lastein also assumes the position of artistic director of the "Wachenheimer Serenade" Sebastian Lastein has been teaching as university professor at the University of Heidelberg since 2014
