Patrick Dodd - Several Seasons (1996) Lossless

After years of honing his chops on Beale Street in Memphis, TN, Native Memphian, Patrick Dodd was recently thrust into the national spotlight as a contestant on NBC’s The Voice. Viewers loved his signature rasping growl that echoes with soul and heartfelt rocking rhythm that Dodd displayed on stage for a worldwide audience to hear! Viewers cried "Foul" when Dodd was eliminated from the show and demanded he get on the road and tour.
“Being on Season 4 of The Voice was an amazing opportunity because it gave me a national fan base that otherwise would have taken years on the road to obtain. I received hundreds of emails every week from fans of the show who cannot wait for us to perform in their cities. That is pure gold for an independent artist. Fortunately, I was prepared to take the next step when I left the show. “Don’t get me wrong, I love interpreting others’ songs, but I have songs of my own that I want the world to hear.”
While Patrick’s rocking, soul-inflected performance of “Walking in Memphis” hit #22 on the iTunes charts, he has far more musical talent than just his unique vocal quality. Although he belts an impressive note, Dodd is also an accomplished guitar player with an amazing band of Memphis Hit Men that consist of the likes of Al Gamble on B3 Organ, Landon Moore on Bass, and Harry Peel on drums.
Patrick and his band have been influenced by such gifted players as Gregg Allman, The Black Crowes, The Black Keys, Gov’t Mule and Derek Trucks along with soul icons like Steve Wonder and Ray Charles. The group gets every room moving, from the first note to the final guitar flourishes.
Patrick Dodd debuted in the late 1990’s, a young guitar maverick on Beale Street. He quickly became a favorite, but soon opted for early retirement to focus on his young family. A decade passed but the music was still calling him. Blues legend and personal friend, Bobby “Blue” Bland called Dodd to deliver fate’s final affirmation, Son, you got an old soul. You just got to let go and play from your heart. Don’t worry about finding someone to help you- play from your soul and they will find you.” And that they did!!!
Patrick once again began to play and started pulling the biggest crowds on Beale Street. He never guessed, however, that it would lead to an audition for The Voice which would result in over a million Youtube views and present his name in conversations with all the hot newcomers on the music scene
Patrick's debut EP, Future Blues is a contrast in simplicity and a lush fullness. His southern-styled rock and jam influenced music is cutting edge and destined for a larger audience. Future Blues was produced by close friend, North Mississippi Allstars very own Cody Dickinson with engineering by Kevin Houston (Buddy Guy, Irma Thomas). After Dodd’s Voice appearance, the recording quickly began to rise to the top of the Charts in the iTunes store, peaking at #3 and staying in the top 40 for well over a month. It also continues to have “most requested” tracks on Sirius/XM’s “Bluesville.”
