„ I’ve been all over the world and I’ve known many country singers there – some betters, some worse. But there is one I respect and like most: Lonstar…” - George Hamilton IV
"There are a lot of great acts in all genres of music. Even in Country Music, we are inundated with many acts who aspire to be like their heroes.... then there are the heroes... the ones who only aspire to be themselves and deliver a message that might make a difference in the lives of his/her listener. These are not acts... these are artists! Real artists are a dying breed. I am proud to say that I recently had the opportunity to work with a real artist...a true hero in every sense of the word...ladies and gentlemen, I'm talking about Michael Lonstar!" - Billy Yates
MICHAEL LONSTAR is arguably the most important figure of country music in Poland, one of its founding fathers and a major driving force behind this subculture, an authentic Living Legend. Singer, songwriter with an impressive list of hits to his credit that in time have become the evergreen anthems, guitar player, producer of his own musical projects, concert-and-festival promoter, dedicated propagator of country lifestyle.
He is the only Polish artist to date to have ever appeared onstage the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, first in 1989 and then twice between 1990 and 2011. He also sang at the Summer Lights Festival, invited there by the Nashville Songwriters Association, and on the TNN cable television show, "Nashville Now".
The list of his awards includes Entertainer of The Year, Male Vocalist, Album, Vocal Collaboration, Event of The Year and many others.
Writer of Polish all-time hit, “Radio” and some 200 other songs, for himself and for numerous country, pop, rock and even classical artists (!).
In 2009 he dominated the “IX Stagecoach Country Music Awards 2006-2008”, winning the titles of the Entertainer of The Year, Male Vocalist, Best Album (“What’s This Country Thing”), Best Song (“High Noon Train”) & Band of The Year. His musical trails to date have led him to the USA, Canada, Scandinavia, Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, Belgium, Holland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria and Russia. He appeared at some of the most important European festivals: “Bauska Country” (Latvia), several times at “Visagino Country” (Lithuania), “Lodenica” & “Dobrofest” (Slovakia), “On The Borders” (Czech Republic), and on several big shows in Germany, including the “Country Night” at the gigantic “TRUCK GRAND PRIX” on the Formula 1 racing track in Nurburgring, where he was booked as one of the headliners. And of course he's present at every important country music event in Poland.
Currently, Lonstar is in the roster of German record label Amazing Records, and now he’s expanding with his music onto the international market, including the stores in the USA and Amazon shopping network.
In 2010 he co-produced the first indie international festival, “Pure Country”. That same year he revisited Nashville where he sang on “The Countriest of the Country” show at the invitation of Billy Yates within the CMA Fest, on the “Midnight Jamboree” and on the 650 WSM radio show with his long time friend, Grand Ole Opry Legend: George Hamilton IV. He also recorded his new, self-written album, “Michael Lonstar &…”, with the elite of Nashville’s most respected singers, musicians and producers. The album’s premiere took place at 2nd edition of the International “Pure Country” Festival in Wolsztyn, Poland in August 2011.
