Chief Schabuttie Gilliame - Snakes Crawls At Night (2004)

Chief Schibutti Gilliame came to Phoenix, Arizona from Africa via Alabama and Mississippi. His raw, Howlin' Wolf style singing is what he describes as "voodoo blues." On this debut CD produced by Phoenix DJ Bob Corritore, he is accompanied by Kid Ramos, L.A. Red, Rusty Zinn, and guitarist Kirk Fletcher, who works with Charlie Musselwhite, and others. This is a really earthy, get-down, deep blues performance.
