Meelodi - The Great Blue Wheel (2020)

On our third album and we have worked around poems by Persian mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, and poet Omar Khayyam. There is also poems by Táhirih Qurrat al-‘Ayn on track 3 and Nima Yooshij on track 5.

We are so pleased to have Nawar Alnaddaf join the band, her beautiful vocals both blends and contrasts beautifully with Medis voice. The music reflects very much Farstads extensive studies of string instruments and percussion around the world, most notably the harp Nyatiti from Kenya and the West African Ngoni featured in many of the tracks, but also the indian slide guitar and the Chinese Gucheng colors the album. A bouquet of great musicians contribute on the album, like percussionists Snorre Bjerck and Francois Taillefer. The album is recorded over the last few years mostly in Farstads studio in Bergen.
