You may recall back in 2001 when Mark Kozelek sang “White Christmas” on his first proper live album “White Christmas Live.” What you may not recall is a joke he made before he sang that song.

At the end of “Up to My Neck in You,” he starts tuning his guitar and tries to play “White Christmas.” As he’s tuning and humming, someone yells out “Play Summer Dress!” to which Mark says “Fuck you” in tune with the song without skipping a beat.

The crowd laughs, claps, and he says: “This is my show man, fuck you man. I’m going to play Mark Kozelek…. Mark Kozelek Plays Christmas Carols.”
