The band was active in Detroit's rock scene, opening up for Bob Seger, Black Sabbath, and Ted Nugent, as well as playing the Fillmore East. The group released Get Down on Epic Records in 1970. Vocalist and guitarist Bob Hodge quickly took the reins of the group, releasing Live Catfish the same year, but with a new band lineup.
Live Catfish featured a rawness, energy, spontaneity and soulfulness that were the all trademarks of Catfish’s explosive and high-octane performance.
