Wild Bill Davison's grasp of rhythm, melody and powerful tone made him one of the very best trumpet players of his time and an authoritative innovator in the early days of jazz. Davison's wild ways were not confined to his musical expression, and a single show in Copenhagen in 1973 had him staying in the city for five more years seeing him collaborate with Danish bands and bringing to Europe his deep, affectionate insights into the core of the jazz idiom. This collection surveys the very best of Davison's ventures with his Scandinavian bandmates.
