Andreas Skandy, born in Dinslaken (North Rhine-Westphalia) in 1989, is a German-Polish film composer, sound engineer and jazz pianist. He lives and works in Stuttgart.
First he studied sound and image with a major in jazz piano at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf. Here he began working as a film composer ("Überlast", WDR, 2012) and played in various jazz formations. This was followed by studying film music at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy from 2016 to 2019.
During this time he worked on over 20 film projects as a composer and sound designer ("Inspektion", ARTE, 2019; "AURA", FirstStepsAward 2019). The Babelsberg Film Orchestra recorded the music for his first assignment as a freelance composer for SWR ("Statistics of Crimes", Director: David Ruf, 2019). As a sound designer, he developed and produced over 30 instruments for Sonuscore ("Elysion", 2019). He can be heard on stage as a soloist as well as in a trio.
