Monoswezi - Shanu (2021)

By its very nature Monoswezi is a musical collective in a perpetual state of evolution, and 'Shanu' charts the incorporation of new electronic elements into the band's trademark Afro-Nordic soundscape.
Monoswezi's fourth album on Riverboat Records, following the critically acclaimed 'The Village' (TUGCD1063), 'Monoswezi Yanga' (TUGCD1090) and 'A Je' (TUGCD1103) that sees Scandinavian minimalism and jazz seamlessly merge with traditional rhythms from Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
Undoubtedly Monoswezi's most adventurous and progressive album to date, it again sees lead vocalist Hope Masike raising the flag for female mbira (thumb piano) players worldwide.
