In 2019, a Swedish supergroup by the name of Amason made quite a name for themselves on the stage with a unifying debut album called Galaxy. The supergroup is made up of legendary musicians (Amanda Bergman, Gustav Ejstes from Dungen, Pontus Winnberg from Miike Snow, his brother Petter as well as Nils Törnqvist from Little Majorette) made a big splash on the stage with their sumptuous psychedelic pop and we were waiting in big pumps the second part. Here it is finally under our ears: Galaxy II.
We are transported to other spheres in their company. Amason bewitches us with this magical and good-natured psychedelic pop as the Bergman / Ejstes tandem intoxicates us through celestial compositions like the opening title called "The Kluski Report" before doing it again with "Picture Seas", "Oscillating Love ”and“ Atlas ”which make us disconnect from our daily lives instantly.
Alternating between English and Swedish, Amason brings out every facet of the five musicians on this sparkling record. Sometimes prog, sometimes psychedelic with “Fanns Det Förut Finns Det Nu” or with “Yvonne”, the Stockholm quintet is as passionate as two years ago. And they reach a climax with "Helitrop" and "Reach Out For More" as well as the sparkling finale called "Vi Tar Om Igen" making this second installment more deliberate than ever.
