Fluxion - Vibrant Forms II (2000, Remastered 2016)

Like Echospace and Deepchord, Greek producer Konstantinos Soublis aka Fluxion is a true dub techno master. The reissue of this compilation, 16 years after its original release, shows why. Fluxion put out Eps on Chain Reaction, but his interpretation of this sound is more esoteric than much of the German label's material. "Omnibus" for example, is a fluid, liquid groove, with clanking bells and watery sounds navigating its journey. On "Subliminal Tone", he slides into a dreamy otherworld, while "Multidirectional 1" is a soundtrack for a rainy day in the countryside. That's not to suggest that Soublis can't roll out a dance floor groove - check the cavernous "Stream 1" if you're in any doubt - but his natural habitat is the atmospheric soundscapes of "Aviation".
