Fawns Of Love is not a name that comes out when it comes to dream-pop but they have an absolutely interesting and underrated discography in our humble opinion. The Californian duo of singer Jenny and multi-instrumentalist musician and producer Joseph Andreotti had proven themselves with their second album named Permanent in 2019 which would have deserved better attention. Still, the couple continue their journey with the arrival of their successor titled Innocence Of Protection.

Let's go for eight new tracks showing Fawns Of Love at ease in their comfort zone. Between rhythmic synthpop and ethereal dream-pop, Jenny's voice always marries as well with the celestial and calibrated productions of her husband and this from the first title laying the foundations in a very solid way but also the intoxicating "Waiting For Dali's Car" and Definitely hypnotic “Stylistic Tears”.

If Fawns Of Love does not revolutionize much, Innocence Of Protection shows them completely at ease and constant in their approach. What could be better than getting carried away by the ethereal synthetic pads and punchy beats very 80's in the soul with "Taboo Daydreaming", "Thoughtless Rage" and "Memory Triggers"? The Bakersfield duo once again fulfilled the contract with a “Suburban Waves” closing this coherent third disc but a bit too homogeneous for it to be really convincing.
