Hayes Cummings - I'll See You (2021)

This album captures a moment in the musical relationship between two guitarists and friends. Hayes and Pg connected on their shared love for playing jazz standards and spent many hours casually playing together.

We put together a set for this recording when Pg decided to move back to Taiwain. Hence the title "I'll See You" - hopefully soon!
C-U Blues was co-written by Hayes and Pg, The Third World is by Bebop pianist Herbie Nichols, Ruby, My Dear was written by the luminary pianist Thelonious Monk, Orange was the color of her dress then Blue Silk is by Bassist and composer Charles Mingus. Shenandoah is a traditional tune that Hayes has been playing for many years - however Pg made the choice to include it!
The Free Improvs were truly organic, without any pre-determined idea, and we did not even plan to use them in the recording until listening to them after the session.
